Tokur - Geology and Reserves
The Tokur deposit is located within the same regional geological belt as Albyn. Gold at Tokur occurs in quartz veins cutting Palaeozoic slates and shales as well as within a mineralised thrust sheer structure.
The principal mineralisation at the old Tokur mine is associated with a silicified zone along a major thrust fault, known as the Glavniy fault. Economic mineralisation within this zone is concentrated in enriched zones associated with gold-bearing quartz veins.
After completing an additional drilling programme in 2008, Group experts re-evaluated Tokur for open-pit mining, defining JORC-compliant Ore Reserves within the Glavniy fault zone, south of the historical underground mine.
